Print letters are individual, unjoined letters typically used for early learning, while pre-cursive is a transitional style with a lead-in and lead-out flick on each letter to prepare for cursive writing. The key difference is that print letters have no connecting strokes, whereas pre-cursive letters have an "exit tail" to aid in joining them together later
